Stayers Hurdle hopeful Emitom wont reappear before the new year after suffering a setback in home.
Trainer Warren Greatrex had set his sights around the three-mile prize in the Cheltenham Festival in March for his five-year-old, that has just been beaten once in five starts.
Emitom bagged three rookie hurdles last expression before locating just Champ great when compared to an Aintree Grade One back in April and is a double bumper winner.
Greatrex said on Thursday:Emitom had a setback education yesterday. He had been discovered to be helpless behind, he has been checked and he is sprained a hock.
While the prognosis is good and he is going to be fine, he will not be prepared to conduct this aspect of Christmas.
The goal will be to have him back into the new year – where and when Im not sure, as first and foremost we have to get him right.
As he is a young horse, we only wish to take our time, not rush him.
Emitom is a general 20-1 chance for Cheltenham in March.
