Pep Guardiola doesnt think a fortress design environment has been created by Manchester City in the Etihad Stadium there.
The champions have won 39 of the last 44 Premier League games at home – a record when they sponsor fighters on Sunday, theyll hope to improve.
Though, Guardiola does not feel visiting teams are confounded claims and with the statistic his side results are down to their own hard work.
If asked if City were forced the Etihad into a fortress, Guardiola replied:My sense is no.
I cannot imagine when teams ahead of the match are not thinkingwe could get it done.
I know the managers and the way competitive all of them are, how theyll try to seduce the gamers and saywe could get it done. Theyll be thinkingwe do and could go a good game.
Sometimes we dont win but when we do it is because we still do something great.
Weve got to try it against a team we know quite well. We have played many occasions against Nuno Espirito Santos team at the Carabao Cup and league along with other things.
Guardiola believes thats underpinned their name successes of the last two seasons and is pleased with his sides house record.
He explained:In certain minutes you need luck to win matches, to make a whole great deal of things, win names.
But weve got effort and very fantastic things, therefore I am proud of this effort and how weve achieved it.
Our very first season [in City] wasnt consistent. We had problems. When I landed here, I didnt expect it. It was the reverse from the season although I believed at home we would be away hard and powerful.
But since then, the next season and next season and this season also, we have been strong at home. To attempt to win titles you need to be strong in your home or you dont have any opportunity.
Together with Aymeric Laporte and John Stones still out injured, fernandinho has been set to continue along with Nicolas Otamendi.
Itll be the 34-year-old Brazil midfielders third match in over a week, but Guardiola is convinced that he can handle it.
He said:He did not have many minutes in his legs before these 3 matches. Over 11 weeks – hes played three days except the last part of last season – from the seasons. I believe he can get it done.
